Press Conference Welcomes Dr. Terry Grier

Our new Superintendent Dr. Terry Grier included in his first official day on the job a press conference in at the 9th Grade Center for Social Justice. Joined by State Superintendent Dr. Jack O’Connell, Board of Education members Katherine Nakamura and Shelia Jackson, Mel Collins, Camille Zamarano, Eduardo Ochoa and a formidable array of enthusiastic students, the new Superintendent called for funding for education and all that we have worked so hard to build.
Dr. O’Connell and all of the other speakers backed Dr. Grier when he addressed the Governor’s proposed cuts: “It’s something that I hope all citizens will pay attention to, and they will contact members of our general assembly and our governor and let them know, there has to be a different way.” See District coverage for more information and links to other media at the event.
