Thanks to those who were able to attend the school board meeting.  Our item was on the consent agenda that is attached. Mr. Miner and I represented the group and we thanked the school board for their support and Ms. Jackson for her leadership.  As you will see from the attachment, the money to have this done will be raised by the community.  I would suggest that those who are interested in helping to raise funds get together and strategize the effort.  Mr. Miner had suggested that we possibly have the official naming ceremony at the first home game of the 2009-2010 school year…that’s just around the corner.

The next meeting is February 19 at 6pm in 100 Building conference, to begin the task ahead of us. (I don’t know all of the answers but together we can make this happen.)  As you know, the Naming Committee is established to convene for naming rights of places or things at Lincoln High. As such, not everyone will be interested in participating on the fundraising committee for the stadium and I understand that.  We will be establishing a separate group for that effort which I believe Mr. Miner will spearhead given that he already has an individual interested in making an initial donation.  My intentions are to be a part of the fundraising committee and I look forward to working with all who choose to do so as well.  My thanks to all of you for your participation to date.
