Cal Grants Deadline

High school seniors have just over two weeks to submit applications to receive state grant money to help them pay for college.
Cal Grants are guaranteed to qualified graduating high school seniors who meet eligibility requirements and apply by the March 2 deadline. Students can receive up to $9,700 a year to pay for college or technical school. The money does not have to be repaid.
At least five workshops are scheduled in the county this month to help students fill out the two forms necessary to apply for Cal Grants: the Free Application for Federal Student Aid and the Cal Grant GPA Verification Form.
The workshops are scheduled for:
Feb. 21, Chula Vista High School, 9 a.m. to noon
Feb. 21, MiraCosta College, Oceanside, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Feb. 28, Cal State San Marcos, 9 a.m. to noon
Feb. 28, Madison High School, Clairemont, 9 a.m. to noon
Feb. 28, Southwest High School, Nestor, 9 a.m. to noon
