Job Shadows
By Loessel • Aug 24th, 2009 • Category: College & Career Center, Lincoln High School, NewsA job shadow is usually a one time career exploration activity that allows a student to observe an individual (s) in their workplace during normal working hours. District policy mandates that a job shadow will be no longer then 25 hours.
This activity is scheduled through the Career Center with Mr Loessel serving as the facilitator. Any student can visit the Career Center (before school, during lunch, or after school) to discuss the job shadow process and what is expected. A student can participate in more then one job shadow throughout the school year and the activity can be done on or off campus depending on availability of the host.
Students are required to dress appropriately, provide their own transportation and be on time. A job shadow can develop into project-based short or long term internship with specific learning objectives.
