Soul Shout

Soul Shout and USD Present:  Eat My Words! Open Mic Night at Lincoln High School tonight, Tuesday, December 15 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the Black Box Theatre $3.00 for students and $5.00 for adults.  Tickets will be sold at the door.  Any staff who want to show off their spoken word talent – sign up the night of the event.

Circle of Friends

Don’t forget that tomorrow, Wednesday, is our regular Circle of Friends Lunch in classroom 447. We will have a holiday activity. See you then!

MECHA Holiday Celebration

MECHA will be celebrating the holidays this Thursday from 3 to 6 p.m. in room 554.  Snacks will be provided, come and have a jolly of a time.  All are welcome.  If you would like to be part of the gift exchange please bring a wrapped gift valued from the minimum of $5 to the maximum of $10.  See you on Thursday!

HELP our communities in the Philippines, Samoa and other Asian countries!

This week is the Philippines, Samoa, and Asia (PSA) Outreach effort organized by AESA… There will be activities during lunch on Tuesday and Thursday, as well as a weeklong medical supply and fund donation drive throughout the week.  On Thursday afterschool, support the effort by purchasing some Asian food after school in the Center Quad.  More information to come via your advisory class…  If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Lieu, at 619.266.6530, ext. 2568.

Toy Drive for Jackie Robinson YMCA

A.S.B. is hosting the 2nd annual Toy Drive for our local YMCA.  We are asking our staff and students to please bring an unwrapped toy ($10 value or higher) to room 146 (A.S.B.) during lunch.  All who participate will have their name entered into a drawing for a Lincoln Blanket.  The more toys you donate, the greater chances of winning.  Last day to donate a toy is this Thursday, December 17th.

Did you apply to SDSU?

All Lincoln Students are encouraged to attend an informational meeting on how to increase your chances of getting admitted to SDSU through the EOP Program on Tuesday, January 5th in room 303 from 2:30 to 3:30.  We will also be helping students apply for FAFSA!

Grease is the Word

The last two performances of Grease is taking place this Thursday and Friday at 7:00 p.m. in our theatre.  Prices are $10 and $12.

Lincoln’s Best Dance Crew

Think you got what is takes to be crowned Lincoln High School’s Best Dance Crew? Then come out to our info. meeting tomorrow – Wednesday, December 16th in the ASB room (146) at lunch. We will be giving out applications and answering any questions.

Mr. & Miss Lincoln Court Applications

Are now available in the A.S.B. room, central office, and online.  They are due by Jan. 14th, 2010.  All applicants must meet a certain criteria, such as a 2.5 GPA on the last progress report card, no F’s, N’s, or U’s, and must be in good standing at your center.  They must also not be on the “Tardy List”  See Mr. Camacho during lunch in the A.S.B. room with any questions.

Reserve your copy today for $75.  When we get back from the Holiday Break – the price will go up to $85.  Also, please make sure to purchase your senior ad by end of January.

INTERESTED in Science and/or Math?  Looking for an exciting way to spend this upcoming summer?

The COSMOS program at UCSD may be the program for you!   It is a 4 week residential enrichment program, where you get to stay at the UCSD campus overnight and develop your interest in math and the sciences.  Come to the COSMOS informational meeting during ADVISORY on Thursday, December 17 to find out what you have to do to participate in this summer enrichment program.  You must sign up in the Career Center to receive your spot in the meeting by this Friday at 3pm.  Space is limited.  If you have questions, contact Ms. Cruz at 619.266.6530, ext. 2544 or email at rjcruz@ucsd.edu.

Tuesday and Thursday Tutoring After School   |   Learning Lab in Room 450 and T Cubed in Room 544   |   2:30am – 4pm

ALL students are welcome to drop in at our two after school tutoring locations on Tuesday and Thursday.  College tutors and some of YOUR teachers are available to help you with your academics, or simply come by to get organized and prioritize what you need to do for the week to be successful in your classes.  Come by and check us out!
