Blood Drive – Tomorrow January 20th
Please come to the ASB room during lunch today for a blood drive application. You must be at least 16 years old to donate. Students who have already turned in an application should have received today a card with your appointment time. Please show this to your teacher at the beginning of class. Teachers – your students will return with the card and the time they left the gym. Thank you for helping to save lives! Walk-ins will also be okay with a pass from your teacher.
After-School Spanish Students
Please report to Ms. Ramirez’s room tomorrow after-school. If you do not attend the class, you will be dropped and you will NOT receive your credit! Don’t let all of your work from 2009 go to waste!
FAFSA and Scholarship Assistance
Seniors make sure to come room 303 every Tuesday and Wednesday after school this month to get help with your FAFSA and scholarship applications.
Green and White Ball Dance
Lincoln’s most popular dance, the Green and White Ball, will be held this year at the New Children’s Museum in downtown San Diego on February 20th. Tickets go on sale February 1st and all students and guests must have a Dance Contract and I.D. in order to purchase a ticket. Prices range from $25 to $50 depending when you purchase your ticket and if you have an A.S.B. Card. The financial office is located in the central office and is open at lunch and after school. Please download your contract today and get your parents signature. You can only pay by cash or money order – sorry no checks. If you have any questions – please see Mr. Camacho in the A.S.B. room (146) at lunch.

Circle of Friends
Reminder, Circle of Friends meets every Wednesday in Room 447 in Science and Engineering. Your school lunch will be waiting. Interested members, come and make new friends, help include persons with disabilities on our campus, and earn community service hours. See you tomorrow!
Internship Position Available
The Joe & Vi Jacobs Center are looking for interns – students from Lincoln High School who are interested in the following career/academic areas: Marketing, Publicity, Sales, and Computers (word and excel programming) and clerical. The hours would be between 8am and 6pm Monday through Friday depending upon the student’s availability and our needs. It would be about 10-15 hours per week and we would sign off on their intern hours. Contact Max Zaker at (619) 527-6161 x153 for more info.
Teen Book Club
The Teen Book Club is part of the ASSETS after-school program and will meet
weekly in room 546 with Ms. Gray and I from 2:45-4:45. We are reading a
great selection of books chosen by students. All participants get FREE
BOOKS, delicious scones generously provided by Rebecca’s CoffeeHouse in
South Park and some cool field trip opportunities. Some English teachers are
even offering extra credit for joining.
Canned Food Drive Results
1st Place: Tiffany Howerton, RM 445 183.75 lbs
2nd Place: Eduardo Ochoa, RM 553 114.5 lbs
3rd Place: Omar Garcia, RM 405 67.75 lbs
Lincoln High School collected 1146 lbs and came in 4th place out of 13 high schools in the San Diego Unified School District. Prizes for the winning classes will be given sometime next week. Thank you to all that helped make a difference!

The COSMOS program at UCSD may be the program for you! It is a 4 week residential enrichment program, where you stay at the UCSD campus overnight and develop your interest in math and the sciences. Sign up on the COSMOS Interest List in the Career Center to save your spot to attend the COSMOS Open House on Saturday, January 30 at UCSD. TWO WEEKS TO GO!
Are you satisfied with your grades from the last progress report? If not, you have FOUR WEEKS until the end of the semester. NOW is the time to focus and take care of your classes. Remember, the grades you receive at the semester grade report are permanent and remain on your ACADEMIC TRANSCRIPT. After school tutoring is available in the LEARNING LABS on Monday – Thursday from 2:30p – 4:30p in Rooms 450 and 544.
Mr. & Miss Lincoln Court Applications
Are now available in the A.S.B. room, central office, and online. They are due by Jan. 14th, 2010. All applicants must meet a certain criteria, such as a 2.5 GPA on the last progress report card, no F’s, N’s, or U’s, and must be in good standing at your center. They must also not be on the “Tardy List” See Mr. Camacho during lunch in the A.S.B. room with any questions.
