COSMOS Application Workshop
Students who missed out on the COSMOS Open House this past weekend… it’s NOT too late! Come to the computer lab in the Library TOMORROW, Wednesday February 3 at 2:30p to get started on your application to the COSMOS Program. Again, this is a 4-week enrichment program for students who are interested and passionate about math and the sciences. You also will be living in college dorms and meeting other high school students from all over San Diego. How will you spend your summer? Come check it out!
Valentines Day Grams
Do you have someone you would like to show appreciation for? Send them a Valentine’s Day Gram for $2. Grams includes a card and a special treat with a special message. Pre-Pay for your gram early in room 548 or at lunch in front of the A.S.B. room. We offer special delivery to Advisory classes.
Green and White Ball Ticket Sales and Tardies
Tickets are on sale now for the Green and White Ball. If you are on the Tardy List and have attempted to make up your tardies – you are eligible to purchase your ticket – but must see your center administrator to have them sign off your contract. Saturday School will be held this week to clear up your tardies or absences. Ticket sales will continue until February 18th. You must have your Lincoln I.D. to purchase your ticket. Contracts are available in the central office, A.S.B. room at lunch, or online at www.voicesoflincoln.com
Junior Class
We will have a meeting, this Wednesday after school beginning promptly at 2:35 in
room 548. Please come if you are committed to working for the junior class.
Cal-SOAP Representatives have returned to Lincoln High
Two Cal-SOAP representatives, Ngozi Okeh and Aida Jaramillo, will be assisting Lincoln High students with college admissions and financial aid information. They will be on campus Tuesday and Thursday from 8:00 am – 1:00 pm in the Career Center.
Yearbook Pictures
We need people to come into 303 afterschool to hold up page numbers for your yearbook – if you have not done that yet – please come by today and tomorrow. Thank you! Also, please make sure to reserve your copy (cost is now $85) and only a limited number of yearbooks have been ordered.

Blood Drive Results
Thank you to all the students and staff who donated blood last week. We collected 69 units of blood – which means you helped save the lives of 207 people. Way to go Hornets!
Lincoln’s Best Dance Crew
Calling all Tappers, Ball Room, Hip Hop and Bboy Dancers – Come to the ASB Room (146) to pick up a Lincoln’s Best Dance Crew Application – they are due on Feb. 20th! Lets see if you got what it takes to be crowned the dance champ for Lincoln and represent us in the finals for a chance to win $1,000.00.
After-School Spanish Students
Please report to Ms. Ramirez’s room tomorrow after-school. If you do not attend the class, you will be dropped and you will NOT receive your credit! Don’t let all of your work from 2009 go to waste!
Circle of Friends
Reminder, Circle of Friends meets every Wednesday in Room 447 in Science and Engineering. Your school lunch will be waiting. Interested members, come and make new friends, help include persons with disabilities on our campus, and earn community service hours. See you tomorrow!
Internship Position Available
The Joe & Vi Jacobs Center are looking for interns – students from Lincoln High School who are interested in the following career/academic areas: Marketing, Publicity, Sales, and Computers (word and excel programming) and clerical. The hours would be between 8am and 6pm Monday through Friday depending upon the student’s availability and our needs. Teen Book Club
The Teen Book Club is part of the ASSETS after-school program and will meet
weekly in room 546 with Ms. Gray and I from 2:45-4:45. We are reading a
great selection of books chosen by students. All participants get FREE
BOOKS, delicious scones generously provided by Rebecca’s CoffeeHouse in
South Park and some cool field trip opportunities. Some English teachers are
even offering extra credit for joining.
Last Week!
Are you satisfied with your grades from the last progress report? If not, you have three days until the end of the semester. NOW is the time to focus and take care of your classes. Remember, the grades you receive at the semester grade report are permanent and remain on your ACADEMIC TRANSCRIPT. After school tutoring is available in the LEARNING LABS on Monday – Thursday from 2:30p – 4:30p in Rooms 450 and 544.
