AESA Meeting

AESA Meeting this Wednesday, Feb. 10th after school in room 568!! Come to learn about the beliefs and traditions of the upcoming Chinese and Vietnamese New Year.

Seniors & Cal Grant Deadline

Please make sure to fill out your FAFSA before March 2nd to be eligible for the Cal Grant! Do not wait to the last minute – come to room 303 on Tuesday and Wednesday from 2:30 to 3:30 for help with your FAFSA and/or scholarships.

Hurley Walk the Walk Video Challenges

Support Lincoln High School and log onto hurley.com/wtw or hurley.com/walkthewalk Lincoln is working hard for the National Walk the Walk Fashion Championship taking place this summer. There will be three videos up in the next 3 months. The first video challenge will be up tomorrow. Click on the sign up button at the bottom of the page to create a username. Fill out the info it prompts you to and click submit. Write down and save your username/password login so you can vote again! Each user can vote 1 time, each day, per video. The window is open for one week for each challenge. Go Hornets. If you would like to be a model – applications will be out soon.

Lacrosse Showcase Game

Lincoln Lacrosse is having our Green vs White showcase @ 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, Feb 10th on the auxiliary field. 6 on 6 – Offense vs. Defense – who will prevail?
This will set the stage of our spring 2010 season which begins with the 1st game on March 3rd for Boys & March 4th Girls.

Heritage Day Parade

JROTC, Band and Step Team will participate in the 18th Annual San Diego Heritage Day Parade and Festival on February 27, 2010. The start of the parade will be at the corner of Imperial and Willie James Jones Ave and will end at Market Creek Plaza, where the festival will be held. The parade will start 10:00 a.m. and the festival will end at 4:00 p.m. Check-in for the parade is from 7:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. at the John F. Kennedy Park, located at 4801 Ocean View Blvd. Come out and support our Lincoln students!

Homecoming Court

We are having meetings every other Wednesday during lunch in room 146. Bring your lunch and lets help make Lincoln and the community a better place! This month it will be on Feb. 10th and 24th! Also, we will start meeting with the Jackie Robinson YMCA this Thursday during Advisory in room 146 to plan Healthy Kids Day. Please come thisWednesday during lunch to get a pass to give to your advisory teacher.

Valentines Day Grams

Do you have someone you would like to show appreciation for? Send them a Valentine’s Day Gram for $2. Grams includes a card and a special treat with a special message. Pre-Pay for your gram early in room 548 or at lunch in front of the A.S.B. room. We offer special delivery to Advisory classes.

Green and White Ball Ticket Sales and Tardies

Tickets are on sale now for the Green and White Ball. If you are on the Tardy List and have attempted to make up your tardies – you are eligible to purchase your ticket – but must see your center administrator to have them sign off your contract. Saturday School will be held this week to clear up your tardies or absences. Ticket sales will continue until February 18th. You must have your Lincoln I.D. to purchase your ticket. Contracts are available in the central office, A.S.B. room at lunch, or online at www.voicesoflincoln.com

Cal-SOAP Representatives have returned to Lincoln High

Two Cal-SOAP representatives, Ngozi Okeh and Aida Jaramillo, will be assisting Lincoln High students with college admissions and financial aid information. They will be on campus Tuesday and Thursday from 8:00 am – 1:00 pm in the Career Center.

Yearbook Pictures

We need people to come into 303 afterschool to hold up page numbers for your yearbook – if you have not done that yet – please come by today and tomorrow. Thank you! Also, please make sure to reserve your copy (cost is now $85) and only a limited number of yearbooks have been ordered.

Blood Drive Results

Thank you to all the students and staff who donated blood last week. We collected 69 units of blood – which means you helped save the lives of 207 people. Way to go Hornets!

Lincoln’s Best Dance Crew

Calling all Tappers, Ball Room, Hip Hop and Bboy Dancers – Come to the ASB Room (146) to pick up a Lincoln’s Best Dance Crew Application – they are due on Feb. 20th! Lets see if you got what it takes to be crowned the dance champ for Lincoln and represent us in the finals for a chance to win $1,000.00.

Circle of Friends

Reminder, Circle of Friends meets every Wednesday in Room 447 in Science and Engineering. Your school lunch will be waiting. Interested members, come and make new friends, help include persons with disabilities on our campus, and earn community service hours. See you tomorrow!
