Boys Basketball Game

Congratulations to our Boys Varsity Basketball team for winning the Division 2 Southern California Final over Compton High School.  They now will play for the State Championship this Friday in Bakersfield at 8 p.m. Tickets for the game will be on sale here at Lincoln, ONLY Wed. & Thurs. from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the financial office for $19 (adults) & $11 (students).  Mr. Richard Minor is hosting a bus (cost is $25 for the ride only), his number is 619-264-0700 to reserve/pay for a spot.

Hurley Walk the Walk Applications Deadline Extended!

Are you interested in being a model for the National Walk the Walk Fashion Show this August? If so, applications are available now in the A.S.B. room and central office. They are due by March 26th to Mr. Camacho in the A.S.B. room – if you can not get your grades verified by your counselor – have everything filled out completely and turn in.  Auditions will be held now in late April – early May. Good luck!

Clubs and Organizations Advisors Meeting

If you missed last weeks meeting for the multi-cultural food fair – a sign up sheet up was placed in your box. It is past due – so please turn into Mr. Camacho’s box in the central office or in the A.S.B. room during period 4 or lunch. Thank you!

Blood Drive

Do you want to save up to three lives? Applications are available in the A.S.B. room or Central Office. You must be at least 16 years old to donate. Our next blood drive is tomorrow, Wednesday, March 24th. Please come by the ASB room (146) during lunch today for details.

Congrats to the following 3 students:

“A very special acknowledgment of Lincoln 11th graders,  Dehojeni Cousins, Kimetria Leonard and Jose Reyes, for volunteering all day on Saturday at the Paper Airplane Festival at Balboa Park’s Air and Space Museum. Jose, Kimetria and Dehogeni represented us in the most positive light! In the words of Roscoe Davis, museum volunteer director, ‘Lincoln RULES, and you can tell everyone we said so!’”

Travel Club

Lincoln’s Travel Club will be meeting on Thursday, March 25 at 2:30 in room 670 to discuss next year’s trip to China. Anyone interested in studying abroad is welcome to attend.

Senior Package

Order forms will be delivered to seniors who signed up this week.  If you did not get one, see Ms. Ramirez a.s.a.p.  They are due no later to Ms. Renuad (financial office) no later than April 16th.

Senior Cap & Gowns

Seniors – you must now mail your order form to Josten’s for your Cap and Gown – the unit itself costs $30. The address is on the top right hand side of the packet envelope.  Orders placed after March 17th, will have a $10 late fee added.  If students need a new order form and packet, there are extras available in the ASB office.  Mail yours today!

Call All Juniors – Class of 2011!

There is an important meeting tomorrow (Wed. 3/24) after school in room 548.  We will be discussing an important way to make money for our class and get community service hours at the same time – by working the next two elections as a poll worker!  Come get an application today – they are due this week before we go on break!

Fundraiser for AVID

AVID is sponsoring a run to support and raise funds for AVID and Leukemia. If you are a student who has suffered from Leukemia or you have a sibling who is suffering from Leukemia, please see Mrs. Hubbard or Mr. Ochoa in the Center for Social Justice.

Assets

The Youth Leadership Team invites all students to participate in the after school program. ASSETS EMPOWER offers classes in all four centers, Monday through Friday from 2:30-5:00pm, and every other Saturday during Saturday Academy from 8am-12pm.   To sign up for one of the after school classes look out for the ASSETS calendar, which can be found posted in classrooms, on the bulletin boards at each center, as well as online at www.lincolnhighsd.net.  Come join ASSETS EMPOWER, Engaging Minds Providing Opportunities Where Excellence is Realized!

Prom Dress Assistance

Are you financially stressed about prom? Are your parents saying, “Sorry…we can’t afford that dress and earrings.” Well worry no more! If expenses for prom are just too hard to manage, call to make your appointment with The Princess Project. The Princess Project has FREE, that’s right, Free beautiful dresses and accessories for San Diego area girls who would otherwise miss out on prom due to expenses. Prom Dress giveaways are: March 19, 20, and 27. Appointments are required. Location will be provided once an appointment is made. Must have valid high school ID. Library Display

Visit the library and check out the “March Birthdays” display. It includes the birthdays of all Lincoln students born in March (180) as well as biographies of famous people born in March. Library hours are 7am until lunch and after lunch until 4pm everyday!

Morning Fundraiser

Stop by the Science and Engineering quad this Thursday and Friday to buy a donut or hot chocolate before school. Donuts and hot chocolate is $1. Support the Class of 2010!

Circle of Friends

Reminder, Circle of Friends meets every Wednesday in Room 447 in Science and Engineering. Your school lunch will be waiting. Interested members, come and make new friends, help include persons with disabilities on our campus, and earn community service hours. See you tomorrow!
