Capoeira Event

By • Apr 12th, 2010 • Category: News

Lincoln Capoeira will be hosting an international event Saturday April 17.  This annual ceremony is one that every capoeira group holds to celebrate the success and dedication by students of the art.  We will be having workshops after school and in the evening taking place in the Lincoln Wrestling room and/or the Lincoln small gym.  We wrap this week up with an event called a “batizado” which is a ceremony welcoming new capoeira students to the capoeira community and promoting continuing students to higher levels.

If you have never experienced such an event, you must come and check it out for yourself.  It will be an amazing display of music, agility, and martial arts that make up this Afro-Brazilian art form.

Batizado:  Saturday, April 17th. Workshops start at 10am and the event starts at 12pm

We are very honored to be hosting:

Contra Mestre Jeromin  (ASCAB)
Mestre Elias  (Quilombo San Diego)
Mestre Batata (Besouro Santa Monica)
Mestre Pelourinho (Capoeira Mexico-Brasil -Tijuana)
Contra Mestre Gui  (Centro Sul -Long Beach)
Professor Aranha (ASCAB -Philadelphia)
Instrutora Ninja (Cordao de Ouro -Israel)
and many more….
