SSC Nominations – Staff Only
There is a ballot for you to vote for SSC teacher representatives in you Center office. Please sign for a ballot, choose your top three candidates, fold the ballot and return it to your Center admin assisstant. We will collect ballots at the end of lunch today. Thank to the teachers who accepted nominations. I apologize for the lack of time but we are up against some strict deadlines. – Mr. Adair – SSC Chair.
College Application over the break
UC and CSU College Applications are due November 30th. Any student who still needs support over Thanksgiving Break is welcome to attend the final college application workshops. The workshops will be help at the Elementary Institute of Science across from Malcolm X Library. They will be on Monday and Tuesday of Thanksgiving Break (Nov 21 and 22) from 10 am – 2 pm. Hornets are College Bound!
Fall Sports Pep Rally
Please come out to the center quad tomorrow, Friday, November 18, during lunch for our Fall Sports Pep Rally. We will be recognizing all fall sports and doing two class competitions. The current spirit point standings are:
9th – 610

12th – 1328
Thanksgiving Feast
Meals4Hunger in conjunction with UAAMAC is sponsoring a FREE SE Community Thanksgiving Fest for approximately 200-250 SE Residents. Please join us from 2-4 p.m. at the Tubman Chavez Multicultural Center at 415 N. Euclid Avenue. Meal deliveries are available for ill/home bound Seniors and/or Veterans. VOLUNTEERS & DONATIONS NEEDED!
Volunteers are still needed for the Thanksgiving Feast. We are also still accepting food donations – can you donate a Turkey…dinner rolls…potatoes…cases of water? If so, let us know!! 800-916-0954 Students will get community service hours.
French 1-2 Class
We are offering a French 1-2 class that starts on November 28th. Go to room 307 by November 18 to sign up!

Message from the Nurse
Staff need to inform the school nurse about ANY medical concerns or issues regarding our students, as soon as you have a concern. Please do not get involved, try to get more info, discuss with other students or staff, just call or e-mail whenever something comes up. For example, you hear about a possible pregnancy, STD, medication change or need, vision or hearing problem, etc… No health problem or concern is too small! Due to medical confidentiality, personal health issues of students should not be discussed outside of the health office.
Drink and Vending Machines
Students are not allowed to use the vending machines during class time. You need to be in class at the beginning of every period. Any student that is caught using the vending machine after the bell rings will have to face disciplinary consequences.
Selling Candy on Campus
Since July of 2007, a new law – SB 12 – went into effect that states candy or other junk food can not be sold on high school campuses. Any student that brings candy or junk food to sell and is caught will have their bag confiscated and not returned. Please report any selling of candy to center admin. or deans.
Circle of Friends
Weekly meetings every Thursday at Lunch in Mr. Moller’s Art room (Room 806). Join us to promote inclusion! Earn community service hours each week! Give the gift of friendship! Special event and field trip opportunities for members! Lunch provided.
College Club
If you need help on your college applications, come by the College and Career Center, room 107. The College Club is now on both sides of campus (Room 303 and 654) after school, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday – from 2:30 to 4:00 all this month – to get your college applications submitted before Thanksgiving Break.
Federal Survey Cards
This week students will bring home mandated federal survey cards. This information is only used to help our school district get additional funding for our students. Please complete the card and return it this week.
Jackie Robinson YMCA Scholarship – Seniors

Lincoln Blankets
Pre-sale of our new Lincoln Blankets are going on right now. Price is $45 or $40 with an A.S.B. card. They will arrive sometime in January. See any A.S.B. or Journalism member to pre-order. You will get a voucher the next day of ordering for you to bring when they arrive. Make checks payable to Lincoln High School. Get yours today because we only ordered a limited number.
Hip Hop Class
The class takes place every Monday and Wednesday after school in the black box theatre and all are welcome! Class is from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m.
