A special thanks goes out to the Caterpillar African American Network at Solar Turbines for supporting our First Robotics Team.  They generously contributed $6,500.00.  We would also like to thank Northrop Grumman for contributing $1,500.00 to support our team.

Come to the Center Quad at lunch and earn points for your class if you are dressed up.  Each day we will have a class competition – to see which class has the most spirit.

Powder Puff Update:

Powder Puff is now on May 5, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. in the Lincoln Stadium.  The deadline to turn in your physical (or a copy) and $5 to your class advisor is April 13th.  If you paid the original amount, you will be refunded $10 at the end of the month.  Be sure to let your class advisor know who to make the check out to.  Which class will win our first powder puff game?  Tickets to the event will be sold the week of the game, $2 with an A.S.B Card and $3 at the gate.  If you have any questions, please see your class advisor.

The beautiful 2011 Drill Team Calendar is on sale now in the Financial Office for just $10.oo ! (That’s just one dollar for each month still left in this year !!) There are two, different team calendars to choose from and individual team members have calendars too ! It’s a calendar you will keep FOREVER !!!  Thank you for supporting the Drill Team. Senior Hoodie to first Senior Who Brings….

 Family Resource Center:

Casting Call for Talented Hornets:

Do you have a special talent? Can you break dance? What about back flip? Do you and your friends draw a crowd where ever you go? If so, we want you for our Hurley Video Challenge.  Come to the A.S.B. room (146) during lunch to sign up and have a chance to be on our 2nd Video – where we show off the unique talents of our Lincoln Hornets to help secure our spot in the National Hurley Walk the Walk.  See Mr. Camacho if you have any questions. Academic League:

Congratulations to our Academic League Varsity Squad – they earned an exciting victory in their first ever match Thursday night, defeating Morse on their own turf by a 30-18 margin! We are still looking for 9th and 10th graders interested in participating. Academic League meets weekly and include three levels (Novice, JV, and Varsity); unfortunately we had to forfeit the Novice round (which can only be 9th and 10th graders), because we only had 2 eligible students.  Academic League: 

Academic League is a fun, game show-style academic competition, played by a team of students against other schools in the San Diego area.  It is open to all grade levels, and we particularly need freshmen and sophomores.   If you are interested in participating, please come to Mr. Muldoon’s room, 470, after school on Tuesday. Our first match is this Thursday against Morse! (Joe Wiseman) 

Trip to China    

University of California San Diego (UCSD) is looking to involve high school students to visit China for an Ambassadors of Peace Global Leadership Conference during July 18-27, 2011.   For several years the UC system has arranged for college students to attend.  This year they are reaching out to the area high schools.  This provides an opportunity to experience another culture and discuss issues of mutual interest, helping to build communication and cooperation between the United States and China.  If you are interested in being apart of this experience please let your center Administrator know.   

CLASS of 2012   

Seniors:  

Senior gear is available to all seniors now who are interested.  Sweatshirts $25, t-shirts $15.  Come out and support your classmates.  The items are also available to staff.  (Ms. Michel, Finance Office)

Teen Book Club:    

Teen Book Club meets in room 546 on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 2:30-3:30.  Come for books, homework help, friends, and fun.  Snacks provided. (Leah M. Gray)

A reminder that Circle of Friends meets today during lunch. Help Lincoln to include all students. You can earn community service hours. Lunch is provided. Come to Mr. Moller’s Art Room 806 at the start of lunch. (Kathleen Kramer)

Seniors:   

Senior gear is available for purchase in the financial aid office.

Approximately twenty-five San Diego area schools participate annually with the winners of each division competing in a televised championship tournament.  

Practice is scheduled on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:30 until 4:30 pm.  Matches are on Thursday nights at 7pm.  Home matches are in the library.  Spectators are welcome so come out and support our team.  

Dennis Muldoon is the Academic League Coach.  If you are interested in participating in Academic League, or if you have any questions he can be contacted at extension x2470 and his email is dmuldoon@sandi.net.
