This is an opportunity for the Lincoln High staff and family to acknowledge the hardworking students who are the leaders of our community.

Representatives from CAAN presented the team with a check for $6,500.00 last Wednesday, December 8, 2010.  Lincoln’s robotics team will use the money to cover the registration fee to compete in a regional competition this spring. The students at the Center for Science & Engineering are thankful for the support from CAAN.

Students can donate toys to the A.S.B. room (146) during lunch and after school. For each toy that they donate, their name will be entered into a drawing to win a Lincoln High School Blanket($40 value). The toy drive ends on December 15, 2010. The drawing will be held on Friday, December 17, at lunch in the Center Quad.

Just to give a quick description of the club, Circle of Friends is a lunchtime program that promotes friendships and social skills for special needs students, by pairing them with general education students. Not only do the students gain social skills, but friendships that become life changing experiences. The goal for Circle of Friends is to increase the availability for an inclusive environment to increase self-esteem, communication, and problem solving strategies that can improve the adult life.

Anyone interested in being a part of this great experience can come and meet us for lunch on Wednesdays in Room 447, or can talk to Ms. Kramer or Ms. Hermosillo-Alcalva in the Center of Science and Engineering to sign up.

  • Dilute isopropyl alcohol (not rubbing alcohol, as it may contain oil) into a solution of no greater than 50% alcohol and 50% with distilled water/deionized water. Purified/bottled water works well too. A 50/50 mix of white vinegar and distilled water is also effective.
  • Put the solution in a small atomizer bottle, the type that you push from the top to get a fine mist. Don’t use this, however, to spray on the screen itself.
  • Apply the solution to a cotton cloth, such as an old T-shirt, lint-free microfiber cloth, or some other very soft cloth. A large cloth is best, since it will help to reduce the risk of leaving streaks across the screen from finger pressure.
  • Wipe the cloth against the screen in a circular, or other consistent motion. Rapid circular movements generally eliminate streaks. Apply an even pressure to the cloth but take care not to press your fingers into the cloth or screen.
