Lincoln High School’s Winter Dance Concert has two performances, Thursday, February 2 and Friday, February 3, at 7PM, in the Main Theatre.

Multi-Cultural Week at Lincoln – Food Fair is this Friday!

Please come out to the center quad this week for exciting performances and music. Today is Latin Day, we will have professional dancers on stage and giving lessons. Tomorrow is African Day. We have a special guest, Torrian, who will be singing some of his own songs. He was featured on 106 and Park last week on BET. Wednesday is Pacific Islander Day, and we will have our returning dancers that have been with us since we re-opened. Grab your lunch and come out and enjoy the show each day! Don’t forget that Friday is our Famous Food Fair!

Semester 1 finals are Thursday and Friday, January 26 and 27. They are minimum days. Students will be dismissed from lunch at noon.

SSC January Meeting

The January meeting of the SSC is scheduled for the 25th at 4:30 in room 148. We will start prioritizing goals for our SPSA.

Financial Aid Night – Wednesday, Jan. 18th at 6:00 p.m.

Lincoln High School will be hosting a Financial Aid Night on Wednesday, January 18 at 6:00 p.m. in the theater. This event is for all seniors and their families, but all grades are welcome to attend. Please join us in a presentation on Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and a detailed strategy for completing it. The FAFSA Application is a requirement for students to be eligible for Financial Aid. Any student who plans on enrolling in a 4-year, 2-year, or Junior College needs to attend with their parent and/or guardian.

The regularly scheduled meeting of the SSC for Wednesday, January 11 has been postponed one week to January 18. We will meet in room 148 at 5:30pm.

The English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC) is a parent committee on campus mandated by the state of California due to our large number of English Language Learners. The committee’s major function is to give parents a voice on campus and provide a venue for parents to stay informed and empowered when it comes to their child’s education here at Lincoln. Our ultimate goal is to improve the achievement of our students on campus and increase our attendance rate. Students will receive 2 hours of community service if their parents or guardians attend. Our first meeting of the year is this Wednesday, January 4, at 6:00 p.m. in the parent center, room 601.

A special thank you to our current parent officers: Vilma Lopez (Chairperson) and Francisco Castro (Vice Chairperson). At this time, we need a secretary to complete our election of officers. We invite all parents, guardians and family members to attend the meetings and have a voice. Our agenda is based on parent questions and concerns. Llamando a todos los padres:

El Comité Consultivo para Alumnos en Vias de Aprender ingleses un comitè de padres en el plantel por mandato del estado de California debido a nuestro gran número de Estudiantes Aprendiendo Inglés. La función principal del comité es dar a los padres una voz y ofrecer un lugar para que los padres se mantegan informados y capacitados en lo que respecta a la educación de sus hijos aquí en Lincoln. Nuestro objetivo final es mejorar el rendimiento de nuestros estudiantes en el plantel y aumentar nuestra tasa de asistencia.

Los estudiantes recibirán dos (2) horas de servicio a la comunidad si sus padres o tutores asisten. Nuestro primer encuentro del año es este miércoles a las 6:00 pm en el centro de padres, en el salon 601.

Un agradecimiento especial a nuestros funcionarios actuales: Vilma López (Presidente) y Francisco Castro (vicepresidente). En este momento, necesitamos un secretario para completar nuestra elección de los funcionarios. Invitamos a todos los padres, tutores y miembros de la familia para asistir a las reuniones y tener una voz. Nuestro agenda se basa de preguntas y inquietudes de los padres.
